On Tuesday, November 27, the Atlantic Council’s Program on Transatlantic Relations hosted His Excellency Martin Schulz, President of the European Parliament, for an off-the-record luncheon discussion.

President Schulz shared his insights on the European Parliament’s transatlantic priorities for 2013, focusing particularly on jobs, growth, and trade, as well as the ongoing eurozone crisis.

President Schulz has been president of the European Parliament since January 2012. A German politician, he was formerly the leader of the Progressive Alliance of Socialists and Democrats in the European Parliament.
