On Thursday, November 15, the Atlantic Council hosted His Excellency Yves Rossier, state secretary of Switzerland, for an off-the-record strategy session. The session brought US and European experts together to discuss a number of issues, including transatlantic relations in light of the “pivot to Asia,” NATO partnerships, opportunities for transatlantic cooperation in the broader Middle East, and the future of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe.

Secretary Rossier has been state secretary of Switzerland since May 2012. Previously, he served as director of the Swiss Federal Social Insurance Office from 2004 to 2012, and as head of the secretariat for the Swiss Federal Gaming Board from 2000 to 2004. He joined the Department of Foreign Affairs in 1990 and has served in a number of advisory and leadership roles over the years.
