The Atlantic Council’s Europe Center, in partnership with Georgetown University’s BMW Center for German and European Studies and the BMW Group, is pleased to host the 7th Herbert Quandt Distinguished Lecture featuring Enrico Letta, former prime minister of Italy.

This event will take place on April 24 from 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. ET in-person at Georgetown University and virtually.

At the lecture, Prime Minister Letta will make the first presentation in the United States of his official report on The Future of the Single Market in Europe.

The success of the Single Market is pivotal to sustain Europe’s position as a global economic power. However, European leaders have acknowledged reforms are needed in an economic landscape challenged by brain drain, dwindling competitiveness, and the need to accelerate the digital and green transitions.

In June 2023, the European Council acknowledged the necessity of overhauls to the Single Market and commissioned the High-Level Report on the Future of the Single Market.

Enrico Letta has been tasked by the European Council to lead the development of this report in consultation with the member states, the Commission, and civil society representatives.

This conversation will be livestreamed on YouTube, X (formerly known as Twitter), Facebook, and LinkedIn. To register to watch the livestream, please register above. To attend in-person, please register using the button below.
