On Monday, April 13, at 9:00 a.m. ET, the Atlantic Council will host a conversation with Admiral Daryl Caudle, the 34th Chief of Naval Operations (CNO), on the recently released US Navy Fighting Instructions, a strategic framework for how the force will operate in a dynamic global security environment. This event is part of the Scowcroft Center for Strategy and Security’s flagship Commanders Series, supported by Saab.
The CNO will join the Atlantic Council to share insights into the core tenets of the new fighting instructions: Sailors First, Foundry, Fleet, and Fight. He will explore the implementation of this document into the service and discuss the future of the US Navy and its ability to deter and dominate US adversaries.
New policy: In-person attendees will be required to show photo ID upon arrival, and no on-site registration will be permitted. Guests will not be admitted later than twenty minutes after the event’s start time.

The Commanders Series, generously supported by Saab, is the Atlantic Council’s flagship speakers’ forum for senior military and defense leaders.

The Scowcroft Center for Strategy and Security works to develop sustainable, nonpartisan strategies to address the most important security challenges facing the United States and the world.

Forward Defense leads the Atlantic Council’s US and global defense programming, developing actionable recommendations for the United States and its allies and partners to compete, innovate, and navigate the rapidly evolving character of warfare. Through its work on US defense policy and force design, the military applications of advanced technology, space security, strategic deterrence, and defense industrial revitalization, it informs the strategies, policies, and capabilities that the United States will need to deter, and, if necessary, prevail in major-power conflict.
