Please join the Atlantic Council Global Energy Center and the Belgian Embassy in Washington on May 12th at 9:00 am EDT | 3:00 pm CEST for a virtual private roundtable on bolstering buildings’ energy efficiency.

The roundtable will feature Tommy Wells, Director, DC Department of Energy and Environment; Stacey Paradis, Executive Director, Midwest Energy Efficiency Alliance (MEEA); David Nemtzow, Building Technologies Office Director, US Department of Energy, Sebastian Moreno-Vacca, Principal Architect at A2M; and Joke Dockx, Head of Promotion of Sustainable Buildings at the Brussels Administration for the Environment and Energy, who will discuss transatlantic cooperation on improving energy efficiency in buildings through exchange of best practices in energy efficiency policies and standards.

Additionally, the speakers will focus on how to drive just and equitable distribution of energy efficiency investments, especially in disadvantaged communities where households spend a significant part of their income on energy bills. This conversation will be particularly relevant in light of the Biden administration’s American Jobs Plan and the US announcement to cut its greenhouse gas emissions in half, based on 2005 levels, by 2030.

Amb. Morningstar, Founding Chairman and Amb. Simonyi, Senior Fellow, Atlantic Council Global Energy Center will moderate the discussion.

You will be able to join this conversation via the web application Zoom, which is accessible through your web browser, the Zoom desktop or mobile app, and by phone. Please register below to receive Zoom information and to view a full program agenda.
