The Atlantic Council’s Europe Center is pleased to host a conversation on “Finding EU-US strategic cooperation on shared interests and competition.” This event will take place virtually and in-person on Monday, September 30 from 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. ET.

As global actors grapple with the challenge posed by shared adversaries, the need for transatlantic cooperation has grown more urgent. Together, the European Union (EU) and the United States make up more than thirty percent of the world’s GDP–surpassing any other actor by a wide margin–and spend the most on defense. Pairing this solid foundation with shared values and interests, the EU and the United States have the potential to develop a shared commitment to countering emerging geopolitical challenges. In what areas are the EU and the United States poised to cooperate, and how can the transatlantic partners overcome political changes on both sides of the Atlantic to do so?

With this in mind, the Europe Center hosts an expert panel to discuss the opportunities for the EU and United States to find common ground in a shifting geopolitical landscape.

This event is part of the Atlantic Council Europe Center’s Transatlantic Horizons Series, which seeks to outline a productive relationship for the United States and Europe for 2025 and beyond.
