On Tuesday, February 20, the Atlantic Council IN TURKEY & Turkey Programs, in cooperation with American Chamber of Commerce, organized a panel on regional clean energy cooperation at the Greentech Business Forum in Istanbul as part of a US government GreenTech Trade Mission to Türkiye on February 20-22. The trade mission was part of an officially certified Department of Commerce mission. The panel focused on a range of topics including Türkiye’s role in the regional energy transition, regional energy security, the role of nuclear and SMRs, the role of private sector, and the investment ecosystem of the region.

The panel featured; Amb. Matthew Bryzaformer US Ambassador to Azerbaijan; Justin Friedman, Senior Advisor, U.S. Department of State; Şule Kılıç, Deputy Country Director for Turkey, European Bank for Reconstruction and Development; and Eser ÖzdilNonresident Fellow, Atlantic Council IN TURKEY. Atlantic Council IN TURKEY & Turkey Programs Center Senior Director Defne Arslan, moderated the panel.

The Atlantic Council in Turkey, which is in charge of the Turkey program, aims to promote and strengthen transatlantic engagement with the region by providing a high-level forum and pursuing programming to address the most important issues on energy, economics, security, and defense.
