Course description

This one-day course on Understanding the War in Ukraine will cover the conflict from multiple angles, including its strategic implications and the military situation on the ground. Students will walk away from the course with a greater understanding of Russia’s objectives, the current military balance, the US and NATO response, the implications for the global economy and business, including energy markets and sanctions, and the future of the global order after the war.

Students will hear from world-class experts and former senior officials, including:

Course format

The course will consist of a dynamic, interactive set of lectures by leading experts and engaging discussion on the war in Ukraine. Refreshments will be served throughout the day, and a catered lunch will be provided. The day will conclude with a networking reception.

Eligibility

The Atlantic Council and USC are seeking an engaged group of mid- or senior-level professionals from different sectors who are interested in exploring the implications of the war in Ukraine.

Tuition

The cost of attendance is $1,250.

Scowcroft Strategy School

This course is being offered as part of the Scowcroft Center for Strategy and Security’s Scowcroft Strategy School. Established after General Brent Scowcroft’s passing in 2020, the Scowcroft Strategy School honors his legacy as a soldier, scholar, and statesman, and the only person to serve as national security advisor to two presidents. The Scowcroft Strategy School educates students on strategy, foresight, and pressing national security issues.
