As the global community continues to grapple with the coronavirus (COVID-19), the Atlantic Council is open for business. Our business, meetings, and events, however, are occurring virtually. For more information, please read an update from our President and CEO.

Iran’s June 18 presidential elections are expected to consolidate power among regime loyalists historically most hostile toward the West. But surprises are always possible in Iran – especially as it recovers from an economy depressed by COVID-19 and unprecedented sanctions. The Atlantic Council’s Future of Iran Initiative invites you to a discussion of the implications of the election results for US-Iran relations, the 2015 nuclear deal, and Iran’s regional and domestic politics, including the succession to Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

The discussion will be held via Zoom on Monday, June 21, 2021, from 12:00 – 1:30 pm ET. A Zoom link will be sent to those who register. The event is open to the press and on the record.
