On Friday, September 26 at 10:00 a.m. ET/16:00 CET, the Atlantic Council’s Europe Center will host an expert discussion on the future of European security after the 2025 NATO Summit in The Hague.

The NATO Summit held in June at The Hague saw allies commit to spending 5 percent of GDP on defense by 2035. It’s a major step forward, and while implementation will face challenges—from planning difficulties to political resistance to industrial capacity limitations—Europe must nonetheless take on more responsibility for both Euro-Atlantic and Ukrainian security.

Against this backdrop, what is Poland’s role in demonstrating Europe’s readiness to commit to long-term security investments? How can Europe keep the United States engaged on the continent? And how should the transatlantic alliance prepare for different scenarios regarding the war in Ukraine and NATO defense spending?

This conversation will take place virtually on YouTube and X. To attend virtually, please register above.
