Connecting the unconnected for education, health, and employment
On April 7, 2020, Dr. David Bray, Director of the Atlantic Council’s GeoTech Center, participated in a live video discussion titled “Connecting the Unconnected” with Vint Cerf, Google’s Chief Evangelist, Bill Callahan from the National Digital Inclusion Alliance, Samantha Schartman-Cycyk of the Marconi Society, and Linton Wells II, Nonresident Senior Fellow at the Atlantic Council’s GeoTEch Center.
In this video, the different experts each provided practical and strategic guidance on how to help the current millions of students, who live in homes with no broadband access, get connected to the Internet. COVID-19 has accelerated trends that were pushing for distributed approaches for education.
The GeoTech Center champions positive paths forward that societies can pursue to ensure new technologies and data empower people, prosperity, and peace.
