Markus Garlauskas was quoted in a Reuters article published on May 2 that discussed North Korea’s response to Biden’s emerging North Korea policy. Garlauskas pointed to the wide gulf that still exists between Washington and Pyongyang, saying that while Kim Jong Un neither wants to give up nuclear weapons or reform North Korea’s political system, Washington, too, won’t embrace a nuclear-armed North Korea that abuses human rights.
