On Friday, July 12, Anna Wieslander, Director of Northern Europe, was interviewed in Svenska Dagbladet about the outcomes of NATO’s summit in Washington, D.C.
“Anna Wieslander believes NATO achieved a lot during the Washington meeting ‘given the political realities.’ However, she – like many others – is still a bit disappointed.
‘It’s a pity that Ukraine didn’t receive an invitation for membership. Consensus couldn’t be reached on that,’ she explains, noting that it is primarily Germany and the U.S. that have resisted.
‘I would describe the results here in Washington as decent regarding Ukraine and stronger concerning China. There, the stance is clear,’ says Anna Wieslander.”
