From the Telegraph: Nato countries should pay more to fund Britain’s military mission in Afghanistan, Liam Fox, the shadow defence secretary has said…

In a speech to the Chatham House think-tank, Dr Fox said that was “a heavy burden on the British taxpayer under the current economic circumstances.”

Under Nato rules, individual troop contributors meet almost all of the costs of deployment themselves. That should change, Dr Fox said.

“Why should the few carry the many? Common security implies common commitment. It is quite wrong for everyone in the street to get the same insurance policy when only a few pay the premiums,” he said. (photo: BBC)
