Program: New American Engagement Initiative
The New American Engagement Initiative challenges prevailing assumptions governing U.S. foreign policy. At previous global inflection points, Americans have debated our global role, but the need for such a debate is particularly urgent today. As the United States navigates a more treacherous multipolar environment, it is saddled with strategic blunders such as the U.S. invasion of Iraq, and the challenge of achieving a full post-COVID economic recovery. Playing devil’s advocate helps ensure a vibrant marketplace of ideas whereby all policy options are fully considered.
