NATO-Russia summit may be added to Chicago meetings

NATO-Russia Council (NRC) foreign ministerial meeting in New York, September 22, 2010

From RIA Novosti:  A NATO-Russia summit could be held next year in Chicago if the parties can agree on a substantive agenda, Secretary General Anders Fogh Rasmussen said on Friday.

No decision has been taken yet, however, he said, adding that he would like "to make progress on the NATO-Russia track."

Missile defense was a key issue, he said.

From CBS/Chicago:  Chicago will host world leaders next spring [May 15-22]  for the NATO and G8 summits, and will be the first U.S. city other than Washington, D.C., ever to host a NATO [Heads of State] gathering.  (photo: AP)
