The Netherlands will contribute to NATO Air Policing mission over the Baltic States

From Lithuania Tribune:  In a meeting with the Ambassadors of the three Baltic States on March 11 in the Hague Defence Minister of the Netherlands Jeanine Hennis-Plasschaert made a formal notification of the decision of the Netherlands to ensure security of Lithuania’s, Latvia’s and Estonia’s airspace by contributing to NATO’s Air Policing mission as of 2017, informs kam.lt.

Personnel with air assets of the Royal Netherlands Air Force will be conducting the Baltic Air Policing mission for the second time after the country’s first tour in 2005.

Minister of National Defence Juozas Olekas rejoices at the successful generation of capabilities for the NATO Air Policing mission in the Baltic States and the increasing number of allies wiling to contribute. Hungary and Italy are also resolved to join the mission. The countries are planned to send their military personnel and assets in 2015. . . .
