Update: NATO activities in Libya on April 30

From NATO:  Over the past 24 hours, NATO has conducted the following activities associated with Operation UNIFIED PROTECTOR :

Air Operations
Since the beginning of the NATO operation (31 March 2011, 08.00GMT) a total of 4536 sorties, including 1864 strike sorties* have been conducted.

Sorties conducted 30 April:165
Strike sorties conducted 30 April: 43

*Strike sorties are intended to identify and engage appropriate targets, but do not necessarily deploy munitions each time.

Key Targets and Engagements**
30 April: In Tripoli area: 1 Command & Control Building, 7 Ammunition Storages. In Zintan area: 2 Ammunition Storage. In Misurata area: 1 Tank. In Sirte area: 1 Tank.

Arms Embargo Activities
A total of 18 ships under NATO command are actively patrolling the Central Mediterranean.
14 Vessels were hailed on 30 April to determine destination and cargo. 2 boarding (no diversion) were conducted.
A total of 740 vessels have been hailed, 24 boardings and 5 diversions have been conducted since the beginning of arms embargo operations.
