The Atlantic Council’s Africa Center hosted a luncheon presentation by Dr. Frans Cronje, deputy CEO of the South African Institute of Race Relations, on “South Africa’s Next Ten Years: Major Trends and New Scenarios.”
Cronje outlined prominent social, economic, and political trends within South Africa over the last two decades, as well as possible divergent future scenarios for the country over the next ten years built from an analysis of the trend lines. The presentation was followed by a discussion, moderated by Africa Center Director J. Peter Pham, which included a response by H.E. Ebrahim Rasool, ambassador of the Republic of South Africa to the United States.
