For the 2012 NATO Summit in Chicago, the Atlantic Council featured reports, congressional testimony, smart analysis, and events on a myriad of issues important to the discussion in Chicago.
On May 24, the Council hosted a half-day conference titled The NATO Chicago Summit: Outcomes and the Way Ahead. The conference provided a thought-provoking assessment of the implications of the Chicago summit, and generated suggestions for how the Alliance can better meet future challenges.
The Young Atlanticist Summit (May 19-21) featured fifty to seventy-five carefully selected emerging leaders, between ages 26 to 35, who are recruited from all NATO countries and some partner countries. Taking place along the sidelines of the official NATO Summit, the Young Atlanticist Summit was the major public diplomacy event in Chicago, as delegates shared the stage with senior policy leaders for a dynamic exchange of ideas.
