The Michael S. Ansari Africa Center, in partnership with the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), hosted a discussion on youth employment in Africa with Mario Pezzini, director of the OECD Development Centre.

Mr. Pezzini, assisted by Jan Rielaender, an economist at the OECD Development Centre in Paris, presented the findings of the 2012 African Economic Outlook report, which highlighted the challenges of and obstacles to youth employment on the continent. Their remarks were followed by responses from a panel of experts, including: Ben Leo, director of global policy at ONE; Neil Levine, director of the US Agency for International Development’s Office of Conflict Management and Mitigation; and Temitope Iluyemi, director of government affairs for Sub-Saharan Africa at Procter & Gamble. The discussion was moderated by Africa Center Director J. Peter Pham.
