Please join the Atlantic Council's Brent Scowcroft Center on International Security for an address and moderated discussion with Jin Liqun, President and Chairman of the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB). He will offer his vision for the development of the AIIB, its approach to providing financing for Asian infrastructure, and the AIIB's internal governance process, as well as his thinking on multilateralism in the Asian-Pacific region. The AIIB celebrated its first year of operations in January and to date has invested over $2 billion in twelve projects across Asia. President Jin has characterized the AIIB as "lean, clean, and green" and has emphasized the importance of operating the AIIB according to the highest international standard.

Before being elected to serve as AIIB’s first president, Mr. Jin was Chairman of China International Capital Corporation Limited, China’s first joint-venture investment bank. From 2008 to 2013, he served as Chairman of the Supervisory Board, China Investment Corporation (CIC). From 2009 to 2012, President Jin served first as Deputy Chairman, and subsequently as Chairman of the International Forum of Sovereign Wealth Funds (IFSWF). He has also held senior positions at the China’s Ministry of Finance, the Asian Development Bank and the World Bank.
