After interviewing over sixty senior former foreign policy, defense, and intelligence leaders, authors Ambassador Chester Crocker, Ambassador David Miller, Ambassador Thomas Pickering, and Daniel Levin discovered a wide-ranging, bipartisan consensus on the inefficiency of the National Security Council to strategically assess options and anticipate consequences. With introductory remarks by Stephen Hadley and James Jones, the authors will share the final recommendations from the report and explore how the next US administration should think about how the NSC can – and should – change in response to the world’s evolving challenges.
