Central America’s Northern Triangle is at a crossroads. This is the moment for the United States to double-down on its role in shaping the region’s future. Inaction or even the status quo will directly impact US security interests.

Two years ago, the U.S. Congress took a decisive step by bolstering cooperation with Guatemala, El Salvador, and Honduras with the approval of a $750 million aid package. The Atlantic Council’s Northern Triangle Security and Economic Opportunity Task Force will unveil its proposals on how the United States and the three countries can work together to solve longstanding regional challenges at this event.

Join us on Thursday, May 4, 2017, from 9:00-10:30 am for the launch of the Task Force’s report, Building a Better Future: A Blueprint for Central America’s Northern Triangle. Its recommendations will lay out a new vision for partnership based on an Atlantic Council poll and a yearlong effort by policymakers, business leaders, and civil society from the three Northern Triangle countries and the United States.
