Big Data, Bad Actors, a conference produced by the Atlantic Council's Brent Scowcroft Center on International Security and Thomson Reuters, will take place at the Atlantic Council's headquarters (1030 15th St., NW, 12th Floor, West Tower Elevator, Washington, DC 20005) from 8:30 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. on October 22.

The conference will explore how bad guys use big data and other disruptive technologies to impact global events in a strategically significant way. Further, the conference also will examine: What government can do to prevent malevolent actors from using new technologies for nefarious purposes;

The role of the private sector in safeguarding critical infrastructure, both physical and on the Internet; and How states should plan for this new environment and shape new strategies to mitigate the growing risks.
