CEO Series – America's Energy Moment: US Impact on Global Markets
A discussion with: Mr. Charif Souki President, CEO, and Chairman Cheniere Energy
Welcome remarks and moderated by: Mr. Frederick Kempe President and CEO Atlantic Council
In recent years, the US unconventional oil and gas boom has fundamentally reshaped global energy markets. As major technical breakthroughs allowed energy companies to tap into shale resources, American oil and natural gas production grew dramatically with far-reaching international implications. With its vast unconventional resources, the United States is poised to become a major exporter of LNG to the world as a result of ventures like Cheniere Energy’s Sabine Pass Liquefaction project. At the same time, the oil and gas industry must face the challenges associated with operating in a lower oil price environment.
Please join us on Wednesday, April 15, from 9:00 am to 10:30 am, for a discussion with Charif Souki, President, CEO, and Chairman of CheniereEnergy as part of the Global Energy Center’s CEO Series. Mr. Souki will focus on the changing role of the United States in global energy markets and the need for adaptation by industry to a new phase of cyclical volatility. Fred Kempe, President and CEO of the Atlantic Council, will provide welcome remarks and moderate the discussion.
Breakfast will be served
