A discussion with
The Hon. John McCain
US Senator (R-AZ)

The Hon. Dick Durbin
US Senator (D-IL)

Moderated by
Mr. Fred Kempe
President & CEO
Atlantic Council

As Russia tightens its stranglehold on Crimea, the world is watching the US response to its declaration of independence from Ukraine, beyond already calling the move "illegal." A delegation of US senators traveled to Ukraine last weekend in a show of bipartisan support for the transitional government in Kyiv; however, the nature of US engagement in Europe’s East has yet to be fully realized.

To discuss the far-reaching impacts of the crisis in Ukraine, and importantly, to provide a personal perspective of the atmosphere on the ground and in Congress as the US considers its options vis-à-vis Russia, the Atlantic Council will host a members’ conference call with US Senators John McCain (R-AZ) and Dick Durbin (D-IL) who led the bipartisan delegation. The discussion will be moderated by Fred Kempe, president and CEO of the Atlantic Council.
