As the Trump administration formulates a new policy toward Iran, it is important that that policy be informed by accurate information about the realities of Iran’s rapidly changing society. The Atlantic Council’s Future of Iran Initiative invites you to a conversation with sociologist and author Kevan Harris on the findings of the Iran Social Survey. The survey is the first nationally representative survey of social relations conducted in the Islamic Republic of Iran since the 1979 revolution. Fielded in December 2016 to a sample of 5005 respondents, the Iran Social Survey contains rich data on family history, electoral behavior, ethnic identity, and contemporary state-society relations. Please join the survey’s lead researcher for a discussion of survey findings and their implications for understanding social change in Iran.

The discussion will be held Oct. 18, 2017 from noon to 1:00 p.m. at the Atlantic Council. The event is open to the press and on the record.
