In a world of near-infinite computing power, ubiquitous connectivity, cloud-based services, and big data, where almost every task can be executed online, the fact that the vast majority of us still vote on paper in elections appears to be an inexplicable anomaly.

So why are the same technologies that have revolutionized our daily lives not being used to bring the electoral process into the twenty-first century too?

The panel of experts will discuss online voting technology today and its promise for tomorrow, along with how much and what security would be needed for elections in the United States or other countries.
