India is in the process of electing a new government. With recent elections in neighboring countries and coalition forces set to leave Afghanistan within the year, India’s new government will take power in an evolving South Asia region. A struggling economy may also present fresh domestic challenges for the new leadership, regardless of who wins the elections when results are announced on May 16. What will be the policy priorities for India’s incoming government? The speakers will discuss various internal and external factors that will influence the new government, and offer recommendations for both short- and long-term actions to fulfill its mandate at home and build relationships abroad.
