Private Strategy Session with Latvian Foreign Minister H.E. Edgars Rinkēvičs
Moderator: Damon Wilson Executive Vice President, Programs and Strategy Atlantic Council
As we approach the 2016 NATO Warsaw Summit, a robust Nordic-Baltic security strategy is key to transatlantic security in the face of the hybrid warfare tactics and disinformation campaigns that are disrupting the region. Recent increased American investment in the European Reassurance Initiative (ERI) is a first step in bolstering security on the Alliance’s northern and eastern flanks. Foreign Minister Rinkēvičs will joins us to provide a frontline perspective on the implications of this commitment, how the Baltic countries are refocusing their own policies and resources to complement enhanced American attention in the region, and the deliverables Latvia would like to see out of the Warsaw Summit.
This event is an invitation-only, off-the-record discussion. The Foreign Minister’s opening statement will be on-the-record and open-to-press. Please click here to view a video of the Minister's statement.
