Much uncertainty remains regarding Brexit and the future relationship between the European Union and the United Kingdom. At the same time, European citizens and businesses need clarity and expect vision.

In this light, Vice President Dombrovskis joined the Atlantic Council for a very timely discussion on the future of the European Union. More specifically, he explained the EU’s preparedness for different Brexit scenarios, including in the area of financial services. He shared his views about regulatory cooperation for global financial markets, sustainable finance, and reflected on the international role of the Euro. Furthermore, he previewed what’s at stake at the European elections in May, possible foreign influence on the elections – and how they were affected by populist discourse.
