Please join the Atlantic Council for a discussion on the Ukrainian economy, energy independence and security, prospects for investment in the Kharkiv region, and the US-Ukraine partnership.

Since the 2014 Revolution of Dignity, Ukraine has embarked on an ambitious agenda of economic and financial reforms with strong support from the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and other transatlantic partners. While the country faces numerous political and economic challenges, the potential of Ukraine as an investment destination is immense: Ukraine is one of the largest markets in Europe with a great capacity of natural and human resources. While Ukraine has been showing the largest investment potential in recent years, the country still faces structural challenges and more work needs to be done. This discussion will bring together top experts, practitioners, and policymakers to discuss the current investment climate in the Kharkiv region, energy independence and security, the future of US-Ukraine relations, and the most effective means for the security of Ukraine moving forward.

The event will be held from 8:30 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, April 17 at the Premier Palace Hotel in Kharkiv. Followed by press availability from 11:30 – 11:45 a.m. The participants will include:

Governor Yuliya Svitlychna, Governor, Kharkiv Region

Dr. Anders Ǻslund, Senior Fellow, Eurasia Center, Atlantic Council

Dr. Evelyn Farkas, Senior Fellow, Future Europe Initiative, Eurasia Center, and Scowcroft Center for Strategy and Security, Atlantic Council
