US – German Next Generation Project
"New Voices for a Stronger US-German Relationship"
Please join the Atlantic Council for a cocktail reception to welcome the newly selected US-German Next Generation Fellows.
The Atlantic Council’s Brent Scowcroft Center on International Security launched the US-German Next Generation Project in February in order to strengthen the US-German relationship. With the Next Generation Project, the Scowcroft Center is giving a voice to a “next generation” of Americans and Germans between the ages of twenty-five and thirty-five. The goal of the project is to formulate a strategy and foster a debate on how to strengthen the US-German relationship.
The Next Generation Project has three components: 1) an online discussion forum (the “Network”); 2) a set of twelve talented men and women – six Germans and six Americans — based in the Washington, DC area who were ten-years-old or younger when the Berlin Wall fell (the “Fellows”); and 3) a report that the Fellows will prepare by June under Atlantic Council oversight drawing on ideas from the Network. The working title is: Building a Common Future: A Next Generation Strategy for the US-German Relationship.
