A conversation with The Hon. Richard Olson US Ambassador to Pakistan
Moderated by Mr. Shuja Nawaz Director, South Asia Center Atlantic Council
The US and Pakistan relationship is moving forward again. After Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and Advisor on National Security and Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz's recent visits to Washington DC, the working groups have once again begun to operate under a renewed strategic dialogue. However, much remains to be done, especially in light of the changing dynamics in neighboring Afghanistan. In an off-the-record session, Richard Olson, US ambassador to Pakistan, will brief us on the situation in the region and the state of US-Pakistan relations.
The US-Pakistan Program is a comprehensive approach to US-Pakistan relations, focusing on the key areas of security, economic development, and public policy. The program will explore these issues and their relevance, in order to develop a long-term, continuous dialogue between the United States and Pakistan. This project is generously supported by the Carnegie Corporation of New York.
