
On June 25, the Atlantic Council Turkey Programs organized the Türkiye launch of the Defense Journal, with a discussion on the US-Türkiye defense relationship and transatlantic relations.

The event featured keynote remarks by H.E. Akif Çağatay Kılıç, Chief Adviser on National Security and Foreign Policy, Presidency of the Republic of Türkiye, and opening remarks by Defne Sadıklar Arslan, Senior Director, Turkey Programs & Atlantic Council IN TURKEY, Atlantic Council.
The panel discussion included Defense Journal co-managing editors Dr. Can Kasapoğlu, a Non-resident Senior Fellow with the Hudson Institute & Rich Outzen a Nonresident Senior Fellow with the Atlantic Council Turkey Programs, joined by Ambassador Basat Öztürk, Director General for International Security Affairs at Türkiye’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and moderated by Sine Özkaraşahin, a freelance defense analyst. The panel explored recent developments in US-Türkiye defense relations including progress on the sale of F-16s, defense industrial cooperation, and the impact of ongoing regional conflicts.
The third issue of the Defense Journal by Atlantic Council IN TURKEY explores developments in bilateral defense cooperation and industrial advancements presenting new and potential opportunities.
