Ali Faqeeh is a nonresident fellow with the N7 Initiative at the Atlantic Council’s Rafik Hariri Center and Middle East programs. He is also an analyst at the Bahrain Center for Strategic, International, and Energy Studies (Derasat).

His area of study is food security, and he focuses on devising methods and processes to improve the sustainability of food security from a technological, strategic, and entrepreneurial perspective, with a strong emphasis on the application of machine learning in agriculture. Faqeeh also publishes articles and studies in the field of energy security in the Gulf, with a focus on the power trading market, renewable energy, and the sustainability of energy security.

Prior to joining Derasat, Faqeeh served in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Bahrain from 2014 to 2019, and he has experience in the technology and real-estate industries in Bahrain and the United Arab Emirates.

He holds a bachelor’s degree in law from Sorbonne University Abu Dhabi and a master’s degree in entrepreneurial economics and management from the University of Europe for Applied Sciences in Berlin.
