Amna Haider was a project assistant at the Iraq Initiative within the Atlantic Council’s Middle East Programs. Prior to joining the Atlantic Council, she was a 2022 Humanity in Action fellow and a volunteer at her local refugee resettlement agency. She has interned at the Enabling Peace in Iraq Center and the Iowa City Foreign Relations Council, and she had served on the University of Iowa Lecture Committee to help bring experts and advocates to her campus to speak on global issues. At the Atlantic Council, she supports the Iraq Initiative in planning programs and conducting the Iraq Engagements Project. Haider holds a Bachelor of Arts in philosophy and honors in international relations from the University of Iowa. She also graduated with a certificate in human rights, with university [KW1] honors and highest distinction. Born and raised in Omaha, Nebraska, Haider is a fluent Arabic speaker as her family hails from Baghdad, Iraq.
