Ms. Anna Mee Allerslev was born in Korea and grew up in Greve, a suburb south of Copenhagen, where she went to school with children from all walks of life. She moved to Copenhagen as a 19-year-old to study political science and has since lived in and loved Copenhagen. Ms. Allerslev hold two degrees in political science and law from the University of Copenhagen.
In 2006 she was elected as vice-president of the Social Liberal Party Youth, later becoming a member of the Social Liberal Party’s Board and Executive Committee. In 2008, she also became involved in DJØF, the Danish Association of Lawyers and Economists. Here she was a member of the Executive Council and chairman of the student wing.
In 2009 Anna was elected to the City Council of Copenhagen where she was a speaker for environmental and technical affairs before in 2010 being selected for the position of mayor of Employment and Integration by the social liberal caucus. In 2013 she was reelected mayor. Even though Anna is still the youngest mayor in Denmark, she is by no means the least experienced. Her party appointed Anna to be the chairman of the Committee for Children and Culture in Local Government Denmark where she also became a member of the board and the chairmanship.
