Anne Thomassen is a 2023 Millennium fellow and a head of department at the Danish Ministry of Climate, Energy, and Utilities. Thomassen is a policy fellow alumna at the Crown Princess Mary Center at the University of Copenhagen. Her professional focus is the intersection of sustainability, business, and finance.
At the Ministry, Thomassen is working on policy development on various issues, ranging from data and methodology on climate footprint to digitization of the energy sector. As a policy fellow, she focused on how to build a data and methodology foundation that will allow more accurate and transparent ESG data to be used in ESG reporting.
Thomassen has previously served as a private secretary to the Danish minister for industry, business, and financial affairs, a liaison officer to the United Kingdom during the Danish European Union presidency, and a green business development manager at the Danish Green Investment Fund.
Thomassen is a graduate from the University of Copenhagen, Sorbonne and École Nationale d’Administration and holds master’s degrees in political science and international relations. She is additionally pursuing a degree in finance at Copenhagen Business School at the Business Diploma Programme.
