Annika Hedberg is a nonresident senior fellow at the Europe Center. She is a sustainability and green transition expert with close to twenty years of professional experience. She is an expert on European Union policies and developments on climate and sustainability, and a proponent of EU-US collaboration and its potential for the green transition across the Atlantic.

Hedberg is a senior advisor on climate and sustainability at the European Policy Centre (EPC), an independent think tank based in Brussels. Over the past fourteen years, she developed and led the EPC’s activities on achieving a more sustainable and competitive European economy. She has previously worked also at the Finnish Business and Policy Forum EVA as well as the Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Finland.

Hedberg regularly writes, moderates events, and speaks on topics related to climate action, energy and industrial transition, circular economy, environment, sustainable food and agricultural systems, and cleaner and smarter mobility systems. She is always keen to make linkages between the green transition and geopolitics, competitiveness, security, social cohesion and/or digitalization as an enabler for sustainability.
