Ashley Semler is the director of video and audio production at the Atlantic Council, where she leads the Council’s video team and drives its editorial video strategy across formats and platforms. In this role, she oversees the AC Front Page event series, podcasts and original programming, social media video production, and the ACTV platform. She manages a team of producers, videographers, and editors, spearheading innovative approaches to digital storytelling for global policy audiences.
She came to the Council from CNN in Washington, DC, where she focused on US politics and produced in-depth video analysis for the network’s primetime shows. Before that, she was a senior producer at BBC News, where she led coverage of New York and the United Nations, managed teams in the field, and produced high-profile interviews and reports from the United States and abroad for a worldwide audience.
She is a graduate of Tufts University and Columbia Journalism School, with degrees in international relations, communications, and broadcast journalism.
