Cleary Waldo is a program assistant at the Scowcroft Middle East Security Initiative at the Atlantic Council’s Middle East programs. In her role, she supports Distinguished Fellow Daniel Shapiro on work related to regional integration and security. She was previously a research associate at the Washington Institute for Near East Policy and has interned with the US Department of State, National Defense University’s College of International Security Affairs, and the American Enterprise Institute.

Waldo holds a Master of Arts in security studies with a concentration in terrorism and substate violence from Georgetown University’s Security Studies Program and a Bachelor of Science in foreign service in international politics with minors in French and history, also from Georgetown University. She speaks French and is originally from New Jersey.
