Eric Shangle is a 2023-2024 Veterans Advanced Energy fellow at the Atlantic Council and serves as the senior vice president of people and culture at Pinegate Renewables, a renewable energy company that develops and finances utility-scale solar and storage sites across the United States, working with energy buyers, corporations, utilities, local communities, and capital partners to provide clean energy to the grid.  

Shangle has experience in workforce development, human resources, and artificial intelligence from his time in startups and is an expert on the renewable-energy industry and its growth.Shangle holds a bachelor’s degree in ocean engineering from the US Naval Academy. He also has a master’s degree from the University of Oklahoma and the Naval Postgraduate School. He serves on the board of the US Naval Academy alumni association and USNA Out.
