Ian Conyers is a 2023 Millennium fellow and the head of community engagement for Amazon. He is a Detroit, Michigan, native and a graduate of Georgetown University, with a BA in government and MA in urban and regional planning. Conyers served as an elected member of the Michigan Senate from 2016 to 2019, including time as minority vice chair of the Transportation Committee and a member of the Economic Development and International Investment, Energy and Technology, and Banking and Financial Services Committees.

Conyers served under former Washington, DC, Mayor Adrian Fenty, focusing on disadvantaged businesses incubation and community development. Following service in the Michigan Senate, he has focused on early and growth-stage companies, supporting federal and local political campaigns, and small disadvantaged businesses.
