Bayoumi quoted in CBC News on Trump’s approach to Greenland

Imran Bayoumi is an associate director with the GeoStrategy Initiative in the Atlantic Council’s Scowcroft Center for Strategy and Security. From 2024 to 2025, he served as a policy advisor at the US Department of Defense. At the Scowcroft Center, he supports work on US grand strategy, defense, and national security. In addition, Bayoumi leads all operations of the GeoStrategy Initiative.

His articles and commentary regularly appear in media outlets such as the New York Times, the BBC, the Washington Post, Foreign Policy, the Globe and Mail, and the New Statesman.

He graduated with his master’s degree in global affairs from the Munk School at the University of Toronto, where he held a Joseph-Armand Bombardier Canada Graduate Scholarship and focused his research on the grand strategy of middle powers. He also holds a BA from Queen’s University in political studies.
