Jamila’s deep science background integrates technical and operational skills to develop strategies towards the energy transition and energy-water nexus. At Climate Impact Capital, she works with corporations to decarbonize and create resiliency against climate change, leveraging venture capital as a platform for innovation. Her previous work in private equity covered sustainability across various verticals, including waste, agriculture, water, and the built environment. She received her Ph.D. in chemical and environmental engineering from Yale University, working with Julie Zimmerman in the Center for Green Chemistry and Green Engineering on sustainable infrastructure. Prior to that, she earned her masters in chemical engineering practice from MIT and her bachelors from UCLA in chemical engineering. She is passionate about building a sustainable future for her three children while exploring this beautiful planet..
