Josh Lawson is a 2025–2026 Millennium fellow and leads product policy work at OpenAI. Lawson has previously held senior positions at Meta and the Aspen Institute, driving work at the intersection of democracy and technology. He previously served as an editor at the White House, as chief state elections counsel for North Carolina, and as aide to a former US attorney general in private practice. Lawson enjoys strategic work that secures a democratic future. He studied politics at the University of California, Los Angeles (BA) and George Washington University (MPS), law at the University of North Carolina (JD) and Duke University (LLM), and public policy as a Coro fellow in public affairs.
