Lisandra Novo is a staff lawyer for the Strategic Litigation Project at the Atlantic Council. The Strategic Litigation Project works on prevention and accountability efforts for atrocity crimes, human-rights violations, terrorism, and corruption offenses around the world.
Previously, Novo was a judicial fellow at the International Court of Justice where she worked on interstate disputes. She also previously served as a Fulbright scholar in Spain where she conducted research on transitional justice and historical memory in post-conflict societies. Novo has also worked as a visiting professional at the Inter-American Court of Human Rights. Additionally, she has worked on civil US litigation for gross human-rights violations committed abroad, including a case against former Bolivian government officials for extrajudicial executions.
Novo holds an LLM in law and technology in Europe from Utrecht University, a JD from Harvard Law School, and a BA in Latin American studies from New York University. She also participated in the exchange program at the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies in Geneva.
