Matt Geraci is an assistant director of the Atlantic Council’s Global China Hub, where he helps research and devise allied solutions to the global challenges posed by China’s rise, leveraging and amplifying the Atlantic Council’s work on China across its programs and centers.

Prior to joining the Atlantic Council, Geraci was a research associate and program officer with the Institute for China-America studies, where he managed the Maritime Affairs Program and Blue Carbon and Climate Change Program, incorporating ArcGIS tools in his research on maritime studies, resources and the environment, US-China international development, and US-China trade and economic issues.

He received a BA in East Asian studies from Bucknell University and an MA in international relations from the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies. During his first year of graduate school, Geraci attended the Hopkins-Nanjing Center in Nanjing, China, where the majority of his coursework was conducted in Mandarin Chinese.
